Beyonce and father Matthew Knowles put rocky past behind them as they hug backstage at final OTR2 show in rare photo together
Beyonce and her father Matthew Knowles have had a much-talked about rocky relationship since she dismissed him as her manager in 2011.
But from the looks of things, it appears they have made some amends with each other. The pop superstar shared a photo of her backstage with her dad at the final show of her On the Run II Tour with husband Jay-Z on October 4.
‘Love seeing this in Seattle ! Daddy and daughter,’ Beyonce’s mother Tina captioned when she shared the pic on her Instagram.

The 37-year old singer was dressed down in sweat pants and a half-shirt in the photo, but she still oozed that Beyonce charm and charisma as she snuggled up to her dad.
Tina also joined in for a group shot.

The Lemonade singer also gave special thanks to her hubby in a video she posted on her Instagram.
‘To Shawn Carter, my Clyde, my best friend: this journey on OTR2 has been a highlight of my life,’ she wrote in the caption. ‘Thank you for every moment. I’ll be your hype man any day! To the Hive and all the fans who supported OTR2, cheers to you and I. Salud!’
Going strong: Beyonce and Jay-Z have been married since 2008
The Grammy Award winning singer’s career began to gain traction after she joined the girl group Girls Tyme when she was just 8-years old. Her dad ended up quitting his full-time sales job to co-manage the band two years later.
The band would eventually became Destiny’s Child, which three years later signed a seven-album deal with Columbia/Sony.
Matthew Knowles co-managed Destiny’s Child throughout, and was also credited as executive producer on Beyonce’s first solo album Dangerously In Love, before she ended her working relationship with her father in 2011.
For the most part, Beyoncé has been pretty tight-lipped about their relationship.
She did reveal that tension began to surface at 18 when she started handling more of her own business matters.
‘We had our issues. I’d say no to something, and he’d book it anyway,’ she admitted. ‘Then I’d have to do it because I’d look bad [if I didn’t].
Some have speculated that her song Daddy Lessons, on her latest album Lemonade, was an ode to her childhood with her dad.
‘Came into this world / Daddy’s little girl / And daddy made a soldier out of me,’ she sings in the beginning of the song. ‘Daddy made me dance / And daddy held my hand / And daddy liked his whisky with his tea…’
