Reportedly, the actress and NBA star will launch jewelry, clothing, hair care and baby products under their baby’s name. And in March they filed trademark applications for “Kaavia James” as well as “Shady Baby,” the latter being a nickname Union gave her daughter for tossing Instagram shade, since she has her own page already. The couple already started a loan company in the baby’s name as well.
The timing to launch the companies and products seem perfect, at least for Wade, since he’s retiring at the end of this season after playing in the NBA for 16 years. It’s also been reported that he’s CFO of Kaavia James, Inc. and Union is the CEO.
According to The Source, the Blue Ivy trademark is owned by a woman named Veronica Morales, who also owns a wedding planning company, and she’s turned down Jay and Beyoncé numerous times.
The Source reported that she eventually agreed to meet with Bey to iron out the trademark dispute, but when Morales arrived she wanted the singer to buy it, plus her wedding business, for $10 million, which the “Lemonade” creator turned down.
