What it's like to live your life as Beyoncé's doppelgänger

It’s certainly not a life we would love to lead.

If being Beyoncé sounds like your idea of the best life possible — access to Blue Ivy, Gucci everything, unlimited Lemonade — then this might change your mind.

The internet has officially found Bey’s doppelgänger, and she’s living in Detroit. Brittany Williams, who looks uncannily like Queen Bey, has shared what it’s like to be Beyoncé’s long lost twin, and it doesn’t sound too good.

Speaking to Bustle, Williams confirms members of Bey Hive can be somewhat abrasive, detailing some of her experiences with super fans, including one unfortunate incident with heeled shoes. “They chased us, actually, to the car… They beat it with their heels until we let down the window and gave them a photo — when we let down the window, though, they were singing ‘Single Ladies,’ so that was very bizarre.”

“I can walk in the mall and people will freak out… Even if they just ask for my email and it starts with the letter B they freak out.”

Williams says not all the fans like it when she reveals she isn’t, in fact, the most famous singer in the entire world saying, “It’s not satisfying” for them.

Despite counting herself a fan (but not a member of the Hive), Williams does make an effort not to look more like the singer — apart from at Halloween, when she dressed as Bey at the request of her fans.

However, doppelgänger effect has impacted on her life, with Williams revealing when she travels she tried to stay as “incognito as possible”.

“I’m always in a cap or a skully or sunglasses, just things that would kind of distract from people being able to make an obvious comparison,” she says.

The lesson here? Don’t be born looking like Beyoncé, because it will change your life — and not always for the better.
